Development of all new technologies and weapon types is carried out in a single research facility: the Order (Exodus) or the Cluster (Harkback). Research opens access to production of new mobile units or stationary turrets and allows Legates to upgrade units or grant them new abilities.
Research centers also produce special units of both factions.
Golem is a large unit that damages all types of targets with a powerful electrical discharge. This unit has been developed by a scientist that used to work with psy-crystalls at the time. members of the Truth Commitee were highly surprised to see blueprints and charts, made by a man with no technical knowledge. That is how a new Harkback technology has been developed basing on the information from psy-crystals. Soon a new powerful unit has been built using this technology. Golem has proven itself well in battle test. However, the success of the new unit triggered rise of opposition within the Truth Commitee, that taken control over all psy-crystal operations.
Exodus special unit - Phantom - creates areas of invisibility, hiding other units from enemy forces. The unit is built basing on the Empire technology, that landed in the hands of Exodus engineer under really strange circumstances. It has been found near ther Exodus Frame after its landing on New Earth. Debris of another unknown unit have been found next to the unwreked Empire unit (serial unvisibility generator). Organicg fragments and primitive metal details were found in these debris. Exodus scientists came to conclusion that during the final battle in Sponge Emperor applied a secret technology - presumably a sabotage unit, which task was to destroy the Frame and its residents. |
